            Set up your Webmail email with Gmail.

            Gathering your email details.

            Setting up your email that comes with your domain is east to set up in Gmail. But first, you'll need to know a few pieces of information first. An easy way to compile all the details you'll need to know is to create a .txt document or compose a draft email and place all the details in the document. The details you will need to know are:

            • Your new email address
            • The password for your new email
            • Incoming and outgoing email servers

            Once you have gathered all the information you need, you should have something that looks like this.

            To save yourself trouble, you should double check that your new email address and password work. To do this point your browser to
            You can skip this step, if you wish. It provided just to make sure that you do not encounter authentication or server failures when you set up Gmail.

            For this example we will be using our demo server and email. You can follow along just replace 'demo' with your information.

            You should now be presented with the Webmail login screen.

             Login to Webmail using your login credentials. Once you are logged in for the first time you'll be presented with a screen like this.

            Click 'Got It' to continue. You will them be presented with a screen showing you three choices for accessing your email via your browser.

            Notice that in this screen, you are presented with many useful sections. Including, 'Mail Client Automatic Configuration Scripts' and 'Mail Client Manual Setting'. It's ideal to make a mental note, in the event that you need to access this information in the future.

            In this tutorial, we will not be discussing accessing Webmail. Now that you are logged in, we know that the credentials you have are correct. We can now proceed to configuring Gmail to access your email account. You can keep webmail open. We'll be sending a test email soon.

            Configuring Gmail to access your email account.

            Now that we have everything we need to connect Gmail to your webmail account, lets get started.

            Login to Gmail

            Login to Gmail using your credentials. Once logged in, click the gear icon in the top right corner, then choose settings.

            Accounts and Import

            Send Mail As

            In the settings section, choose, Accounts and Import. Then select, Send mail as:

            In the following window, enter your Webmail email address (Not your gmail address). You can leave all the other options as they are. Then click, Next Step.

            In this screen enter in the SMTP Server field, then your Webmail email in the username field, choose port 465 and finally enter your password in the password field. Leave the other options as they are. Click Add Account.

            If everything went smoothly you'll see the screen shown below. Now check back in your Webmail account then copy and paste the confirmation code, then click verify.

            Now your gmail account will be able to send emails using your Webmail account.

            Check mail from other accounts

            Now that Gmail can send email from your Webmail account, we need to set Gmail to download your emails from the Webmail server.

            In the same accounts and import screen, click add a mail account from the check mail from other accounts section.

            In this screen, enter your Webmail email (Not your gmail address). Then click next.

            In the following screen, keep all the options as they are, and click next.

            Now enter your Webmail email address in the username field, your password and in the POP Server field using port 995. Tick the box Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail. Then click add account.

            It's recommended to leave the option for leave a copy of retrieved message on the server unchecked.

            Test your connection

            For the last step, we'll test the connection and ensure your Webmail is properly configured.

            From an email address that is not your Webmail or the Gmail email address you used. Send yourself an email to your Webmail account. If everything is connected properly, your Gmail account will show the test email. Hit reply and check if Gmail will send a reply back to the source email address.

            It sometimes takes a few minutes for your email to be delivered to Gmail. If it's been longer than 5 minutes, there may be a configuration error.

            If all goes well, your Webmail is now properly configured in Gmail.

            If your Webmail account changes, or your Webmail password is reset, you will need to re-configure Gmail with the new settings.
